Why do I make breastmilk jewellery?

First I would just like to say, I think there is something so special and beautiful about breastmilk jewellery. The very act of giving this precious milk to your child is nothing short of amazing, and you deserve a medal. Why shouldn’t you celebrate yourself with jewellery!

I cannot claim that I made up breastmilk jewellery, far from it. But I loved breastfeeding. My journey wasn’t, plain sailing, I had breast refusal, mastitis about 4 times, bleeding nipples, the list goes on. Despite all of this I cherish the fact I was able to breastfeed both my children, and when I stumbled across breastmilk jewellery I knew it was something I desperately needed in my life!

I searched and searched but all of the pieces I came across either weren’t my style or didn’t look of great quality. Being a jewellery maker myself (at this point just a passion and escapism project) I knew what to look out for and wasn’t impressed with what I found. So I decided to back myself and make something myself.

After that I was hooked, I loved my piece and knew there was a gap in the market for breastmilk jewellery that was high quality and more contemporary in style.

I launched my jewellery business in October 2023 but it has taken me until now, October 2024, to launch a shop-able breastmilk collection.

Why?

I really really wanted to get it right. In my mind I didn’t want to mess around and muck up a breastmilk jewellery piece that was quite frankly irreplaceable. So I have worked and worked at it, tried lots of different resins, process and designs until I was happy that I could deliver a breastmilk jewellery collection that was just right.

This is the first collection that I'm launching and I’m so excited about it. I’ve already got tonnes of ideas about how I want to expand and push the designs and offers, so watch this space!
